Exclusive to Midwinter Yarns!
Due to ongoing travel restrictions, I was not able to travel to France to source the vintage linen fabric normally used for these bags last year. Instead, we turned to Scotland's last linen mill that we were lucky enough to have locally, and they provided us with their beautiful fabrics for the bags.
Sadly, Scottish Linen closed their doors for good in April 2021, and with them, the last of the Scottish linen industry. I was able to secure quite a few bolts of their fabric before they went, so will continue to make these project bags until the fabric runs out.
The Ochils Bag itself is a roomy and sturdy project bag hand made by us here at Midwinter HQ, and features a triple internal pocket with space for notebooks and a pen. The outer layer is hand dyed by us, and the lining is a hard-wearing linen-cotton blend. The inside view of the bag is shown easily containing 500gr of yarn to give you an idea of capacity.
The bag closes with a roll-down construction, so it can roll down to however small the contents allow and grow along with your project. The metal clasp then forms a handy strap to carry the bag with, or hang off your arm if working on the go.
Height (unrolled): 27cm / 10.5 inches
Width at top: 33 cm / 13 inches
Depth (at base) : 15 cm / 6 inches
Simple Black is a deep black colour dyed on a beautiful hard-wearing cotton/linen blend, and the new Scandi Tulip lining features big, graphic tulip-shaped flowers in cream on a black, sturdy cotton.
Due to the hand dyed nature of this fabric, some colour variation may occur around the bag.
