Introducing the Tweed Edition of our popular Ochils Bags
Continuing in our desire to use local materials for our handmade project bags, we have turned to perhaps the most beautiful material Scotland has to offer: Shetland Wool Tweed.
Scottish tweeds offer the most incredible depth of colours and the heathered tones perfectly reflect the wild Scottish landscapes - it is a material that I could just look and look at and never quite grow tired of.
We are incredibly lucky to have some truly skilled weavers amongst our friends, and this stunning cloth has been created by Elliot's Shed who hand weave their fabrics in the Scottish Borders.
The Ochils Bag itself is a roomy and sturdy project bag hand made by us here at Midwinter HQ, and features a triple internal pocket with space for notebooks and a pen. The outer layer is a smooth 100% Wool, and the lining is a sturdy cotton canvas.
The inside view of the bag is shown easily containing 500gr of yarn to give you an idea of capacity.
The bag closes with a roll-down construction, so it can roll down to however small the contents allow and grow along with your project. The metal clasp then forms a handy strap to carry the bag with, or hang off your arm if working on the go.
Measurements:
Height (unrolled): 27cm / 10.5 inches
Width at top: 33 cm / 13 inches
Depth (at base) : 15 cm / 6 inches
Sky is a slightly different edition of our tweed bag: the outer is a beautiful summer sky blue, woven in a subtle Celtic Chain pattern, and the bag is lined with a blue splatter pattern canvas, reminiscent of a starry night sky.
