Exclusive to Midwinter Yarns!
Due to ongoing travel restrictions, I was not able to travel to France to source the vintage linen fabric normally used for these bags last year. Instead, we turned to Scotland's last linen mill that we were lucky enough to have locally, and they provided us with their beautiful fabrics for the bags.
Sadly, Scottish Linen closed their doors for good in April 2021, and with them, the last of the Scottish linen industry. I was able to secure quite a few bolts of their fabric before they went, so will continue to make these project bags until the fabric runs out.
For this very special edition, we asked To Dye For Funk to create one of her wonderful tie-dye galaxies on a couple of lengths of the hard-wearing Scottish linen for us. We then chose to line it in our trademark warm orange, in a sturdy cotton fabric.
The inside view of the bag is shown easily containing 500gr of yarn to give you an idea of capacity.
The bag closes with a roll-down construction, so it can roll down to however small the contents allow and grow along with your project. The metal clasp then forms a handy strap to carry the bag with, or hang off your arm if working on the go.
Height (unrolled): 27cm / 10.5 inches
Width at top: 33 cm / 13 inches
Depth (at base) : 15 cm / 6 inches
Due to the tie-dyed nature of this fabric, each bag features a somewhat different section of colour. All remaining bags have one side in more red and purple tones, and one more towards blues and greens, but they are all very much unique.
